Remoting

 

 
In PS1.0 you had to use WMI to do remoting.  In 2.0 this is native.  2.0 needs to be installed on the remote and local computer.  Not all Windows editions are supported yet but the goal is to support everything post-XP. 
 
You can also do Background Task Processing once this is enabled. 
 
enable-psremoting
disable-psremoting
test-wsman
 
WinRM can also be configured via GPs. 
 
$session=new-pssession <computername>
$session
invoke-command -Session $session -ScriptBlock {}
 
For an interactive session:
enter-pssession <computername>
exit-PSSession
